About Jeff
ST. BONAVENTURE / CLASS OF 2021
Jeff is currently studying at St. Bonaventure University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree, double majoring in journalism and English, and minoring in history.
He has experience across various sectors of the communication field, including print and digital media, public relations and podcasting. Jeff currently works in the sports department of the Olean Times Herald, where he travels across western New York to cover high school and collegiate athletics. For the first eight months of 2020, Jeff contributed to "Kids Imprisoned," an eight-month investigation into the juvenile justice system in America with News21, a prestigious investigative reporting fellowship with Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Jeff lived in Scottsdale, Arizona from June to August while working on the project.
The summer before, Jeff interned on the Corporate Communications team at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in Rochester, New York, He worked alongside public relations professionals in one of the largest corporations in western New York. As far as writing and digital media experience goes, Jeff has had work published in the Batavia Daily News and Livingston County News, in addition to the OTH. His student training has featured work for TAPinto Greater Olean, The Bona Venture newspaper, The Intrepid online news outlet and more. In May of 2020, Jeff was named Editor-in-Chief of The Intrepid, a position that he will hold until graduation. He also co-hosts a multicast titled "The Bills Overtime Podcast," which is part of the Cold Front Report's online network of content that covers the Buffalo Bills. The show is broadcasted live on Tuesday nights, and can be found on all major podcast platforms afterward. |

INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING/ 2020
As part of News21's investigation into the US juvenile justice system, Jeff covered topics such as policing in America, and stories of life after incarceration for individuals who entered the justice system as kids. Jeff has written a variety of stories regarding St. Bonaventure basketball for student media and the Times Herald, but some of his favorites include a two-part feature that re-visits SBU basketball's golden era and the program's transformation with the rise of conferences in the late 1970s, and a feature story on current Bona guard Jaren Holmes, who legally changed his last name after his first year at SBU to honor his mother. ATLANTIC 10 TOURNAMENT / 2019-20
Jeff has covered St. Bonaventure men's basketball at the Atlantic 10 tournament each of the past two years. He followed SBU's trip to the championship game in 2019, and the tournament's cancelation due to an emerging COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
